The Trails Stadium
The Trails Stadium will be the centerpiece of The Trails a 2,830,000 sq ft mixed-use development in southeast Kansas City, the new home for the Wizard soccer team. When complete, the stadium will hold 18,000 people.
The Kansas City branch of Turner Construction partnered with CADFORCE to develop an architectural and structural Building Information Model from design documents. The models were linked to create material take off schedules, construction coordination, and clash detection of architectural and structural elements. Structural model components included the foundations, slabs, beams, columns, trusses and the structural shell. The architectural model included the partitions, floors, roof and canopies. The level of detail required was 275.
